Tony's on the Pier is family owned and operated, featuring a large selection of fresh fish daily and views of the water. They are known for their Mai Tai's (you keep the glass). Tony's originally opened in a small shack. In 1961, the dining room expanded to include a patio with sliding glass windows, which customers loved for feeding birds and enjoying the fresh ocean air.

"Tony" was born Anthony A. Trutanich, better known as Tony T., in San Pedro, CA, around 1922. He was a lead navigator on 25 missions in WWII, including D-Day. After the war, he became a commercial fisherman—hard, demanding work. Hoping for an easier life, he opened Tony’s on the Pier in 1952. In 1963, he added the Top o' Tony’s Bar, offering views from Palos Verdes to Santa Monica and a wall of celebrity guests.

In 1961, a beautiful woman applied to be a waitress at Tony’s. Though the restaurant wasn’t hiring, Tony offered her the job—and three years later, they married. That same year, he expanded the restaurant's lower patio, helping make Tony’s a beloved coastal spot. Today, Tony’s is a landmark known for fresh seafood, famous Mai Tais, and live entertainment every night of the week.
